Our Weekend....

I would love to tell you that we have been laying around doing a whole lot of nothing but alas that is not the case.
(Parental disclaimer: while I understand that allowing my child to climb a tree and swing from her knees over many rocks looks negligent, I assure you this is perfectly safe. Well sort of safe. Pretty safe. Oh heck, who am I kidding, it's a bad idea)

We have been trying to stop and enjoy the little things as we get through our school day. Pet therapy is part of what keeps us sane.

Big ol' wet snuggles from a big ol' gentle giant....

Being busy is an understatement. Ryanne's bike club rode from Yucaipa to Huntington Beach this past Saturday. A few of us moms met them at In N Out in Corona and let the other kids off who wanted to do the last 40 miles.

Dennis and his son Cameron....it's a total family thing this bike club of ours.

Dan convinced Morgan to ride with him since it's her last Saturday of freedom before Nutcracker rehearsals start..

Daddy's girls.....

Ethan giving Morgan a pep talk...

The finish line...."Hi Mom! I made it!"

Ryanne is contemplating why she does this for fun...ha!

After they all got to the beach the kids changed and took of on boogie boards....

Our friends baby Alyna...she's 7 months old...

It was her first time at the beach...

She's super easy to love and photograph because hellooo look at that face!!

You would think that after my husband got up at 5am to ride 100 miles I would let him sit on the beach and rest right?

Ummm...have you met me?

I just want to love him ha!

Morgan and Selah....

They are also part of a trio for their performing dance group....

We had a big bon fire and made dinner....

It was great fun and fellowship....

Car Show...

Morgan got selected to be part of a trio for this years dance competition season....I played with my camera settings and took a few pictures in front of one of the old cars. To say it was hot would be an understatement. More like peel the flesh off your face heat...ha! The girls were troopers in their hot tights and make up though...

This past weekend they got to show off the dance they have been working on by dancing at a classic car show. Their costumes did not make it in time so we scrambled and luckily some old costumes from last year worked out. Whew! They did a great job and had fun so it was all good.

We look forward to a fun and busy dance season. The three girls all get along great and so it should be lots of fun.
Morgan also just tried out for a spot in the Nutcracker and got her first solo as the ballerina doll. Should be exciting...now I just need to make sure I take my vitamins so I can keep up with her these next few months with all her extra practices ha!

Our Weekend.....

So this weeknd I decided to tackle my 10 year olds most disgusting bedroom....and by disgusting I mean...

like toxic dump site disgusting.....

it just kept getting worse and frankly I was in denial of her hoarder status...

Some changes needed to be made. I went to Ross and bought this night stand for like $14, painted it and...

after enlisting the help of my mom, we cleaned, threw away, donated anything that would not fit in the labeled tubs I bought her and organized EVERYTHING!

We moved furniture, went through her clothes and donated them to kids who needed them and tore down her mini blinds that looked like she had tried to climb threw them at some point....

Sigh.....so much better....I told her if it ever looked like that again I was throwing a lit torch in there and running for my life. I'm most certain she will need therapy when she's grown because of me ha!

The girls have buckled down and done great their first two weeks of school which is great since I am still in denial that my summer is over. Milo likes to help Morgan study, and by study I mean....

roll around on her books, take her pencil and pose for the camera when he sees me coming.

We love him in spite of himself..I mean look at that face!!

I went out to water the other morning and was instantly struck by the beauty in the sky. I stood there forever thinking about how God shows us His beauty in different ways.

When we seek him we will find him when we search for Him...I love that! I love that when you talk to people and hear their stories of where they are in their lives you can say with confidence God meets us there; even in the pits. And he doesn't leave us there..He is able to restore our hearts.

I have been given to much to not give it away. I don't want my walk with the Lord to be about me but about how He can pour me out and empty me of myself to serve others. To know Him and make Him known.

Weekend Project....

We have this big wall in our dining room behind our table that for the past 10 years has had just a mirror on it because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do.....

So my mom and I hit up the antique and thrift shops in town and after a couple stops on Pinterest to get ideas for what I liked and didn't like this is what we came up with....incase you cannot read the sign in the middle it says,"Remember as far as anyone know we are a nice NORMAL family." ha!

I ordered this chalk art on ETSY and found this frame at TJ Maxx....

My sister in law is in the Navy and has sent me things over the years that I just love. This is hand painted on cloth....

We found this concrete knife that I thought was fun....so thanks mom! I love my wall. It's quirky and random which I love!
