Where does the time go?

I was sitting at our oldest daughter's kindergarten graduation yesterday and I was having a hard time believing this baby that I swear I was just holding in my arms yesterday is a first grader. How can that be? I remember adopting her when she was 72 hrs old and as I looked at what was by far the most beautiful person I had ever met I was trying in my mind to freeze time. So now 6 years later here she is riding a bike, swimming, reading, taking guitar lessons and all this without my help. It dawned on me that she doesnt need me for those things that seemed so huge at one point. Then just as I thought my heart couldn't take anymore I was laying in bed this morning before the sun came up and I felt these sweet, soft arms wrap around me and as she curled in close I smiled thinking,"ahhhh, she still needs me for this..............even if it is just to keep warm!"

So sweet :) All the moms were telling me pretty much the same thing....to cherish the moments because before you know it they are in second grade. They were saying the days are long when they are toddlers, but the years go fast.

I know how you feel as I was also watching her stand up their so big and proud, and looking so very pretty. I thought how has 6 years already passed us by. And it makes you happy and sad all at the same time but we all know we can't keep them little forever. And now is when things get real interesting.

Oh my - this new technology! "I can be taught, I can be taught....I CAN be taught!" WHO is going to give me lessons? HA! The pictures are beautiful....I remember all of those very precious times....they DO go fast! I was just telling Ric on Tuesday - is this what it is like to be old? Time goes by too fast and either yourself, or somebody you know is in the hospital....you all sit around discussing your medications? HA. Sick uh? We just laugh because our love has grown so much - much more than we ever thought in our whole lives...but more than that..we know how much Jesus loves us and we wish all of our Children knew that too! Cherish these times...they get away from you faster than you can ever imagine! Love, Donna
