Dan & I decided this was the year we could really pick out Ryanne's sassy personality and do her room up for her. I feel badly because this was the one room in the house that got the least attention when we moved in. Ryanne was only three weeks old, Morgan was three and I was exhausted by the time we got done moving in and Dan had to go back to work right away. So we threw some lavendar paint up and swore when she out grew the "coloring on the walls phase" we would focus more on her room. Ryanne turns four next week and so as her gift we decided to do her room for her. I had cut out this picture in a kids Pottery Barn magazine about 2 years ago and hoped it would be something I could recreate for lots less of course. ;)
Look below and you will see the already empty room and a bedroom set we bought from a couple for $100. It's a faded off-white wood that I pretty much hated but we didnt think we would keep it for long.
"Hi everyone! This is my old iron bed!" Dad & Mom are gonna make it rock!
We all got to the task of making Ryanne feel special and her room a special, fun place to be.
Morgan wanted to paint all day and took it very serious.
After two days (the only 2 Dan had off) we finished. Please see the post below for the final project. :)

I can't wait to see the finished project... the furniture could look really cute with some paint... I'm kind of an expert at painting ANYTHING that holds still. I'm about to publish my latest painting project, so you'll see what I mean.
oops! I hadn't looked at the next post yet, I got so excited about this one!!!
Great job! Looks so cute!
Thanks for commenting on my blog, and nice to "meet" you! Sorry to hear you had to deal with infertility as well. It's something I wouldn't wish on anyone. You're proof however that miracles happen, and you have two beautiful miracles. Were they both IVF babies, if you don't mind me asking? We haven't decided if we'll go that far yet. We have three more cycles with my current medication (clomid), and if that doesn't work we'll have to decide what to do next.
Ryanne's bedroom looks so great. You guys certainly did a lot of work, but it looks like you had tons of fun. That's such a great picture of you and the girls in the picture frame.
Her room is awesome! You guys did a great job. I had a bed like that when I was younger but I wish it was pink like that. I'm sure she loves it and will love it at least until she's a teenager, but you have a long time for that. Thanks for the uplifting comment. Things have been rough and I hope it passes soon.
I hope you guys have fun in San Diego! What all do you have planned? I would love to hear the story of what you went through. It's always encouraging to here from people who made it through what we're dealing with, and ended up with children. We've always talked about adopting, but in the past it was always "after we have a couple kids, let's adopt another." Not a bad mentality by any means, but now our view is changing a bit, as we don't know if we'll be able to have our own. Hopefully! I added my email to my account, thanks for letting me know it wasn't there. It's epic.diana@gmail.com so you don't have to go search for it.
oh so cute. i love taking hand me downs or buying garage sale stuff and redoing it! GO DAN (and girls;). So cutie.
